Remove ends (to minimum length needed for internal circuit boards) Separate front (top) panel (aluminum) from back panel (steel)

Some "body work" with hammer and anvil helps reduce the back panel damage to some extent.

Replacement bottom is 1/4" plywood for bottom, with 1/2" aluminim angle bar suporting a 1/8" aluminum strip for front, notched as shown below to go around display area.

Future design for more of a wedge shape bottom (requires access to a bending brake able to handle >42" aluminum, and re-creating wooden ends)   DXF     Check back in a few years and maybe I'll have this done. The wedge shape would be better for display visibility, but there may be issues with internal airflow and cooling if everything is packed too tight. TBD...
